With time marching ever onward we had to start preparing for the inevitable winter weather which could be just around the corner.  The old stove in the Annex was removed, making way for a new wood burner – our only source of heat for the time being.  We also made the sitting room a bit more homely, putting in a carpet from one of the main bedrooms and adding luxuries such as curtains.  Here is our makeshift sitting room:

The roof took up more time – finishing off stage 1 of the main curved roof as well as rebuilding the internal structure.  All this damage caused by the lack of simple maintenance.

And just to prove I do get my hands dirty (and don’t make Tony do all of the horrible jobs) here I am stripping out yet more dry rot:
