Just under a month until the harlers arrive, so all hands to the pump to get everything in order – removing more render, flushing out, resetting the cast iron pipework, installing the extractor fan vents, moving the scaffolding and endless trips to get rid of the rubble!
We almost finished the roof – well over 1,000 hours work thus far – with just the ridges left to complete.
The garden is coming along nicely. The herbaceous border is looking tremendous even before the plants are moved around, the flower garden continues to provide a splash of colour, the new garden arch was installed (thanks Dayle!), work continued on the path and the poppies have already brightened up the driveway.
The tractor needed some running repairs – although the bite it gave Mike during this operation was most unwelcome.
The fruit crop was amazing this year – apple trees sagging under the weight of the fruit and even the peach tree managed a healthy crop. We also has a good supply of greengages and the plums are ripening nicely.
And finally, we managed to get a washing machine up and running…
