Work on the back stairs continued apace, with excavations completed, insulating material laid, pipework run and the limecrete slab barrowed into place and levelled.
We also started the decorating (!), with Eddie fitting us in to prep, paper and paint the ceiling in the main hall ahead of the scaffold being dropped.
Other internal jobs included the start of some more lime plastering (finishing work only, thankfully) and a start on the pantry ceiling. Mike also managed to insulate above the main hall ceiling without putting his foot through it (phew!)
External jobs included clearing the drive ahead of another pellet delivery and the start of yet more limewashing.
The garden continues to delight as well as be very productive, and we hope this is the last cut of the lawn for this season.
And here is some proof of just how productive our garden has been (with a little bit of work along the way from Sue!)
A very exciting development was the arrival of our stone flooring – all 155sqm of it. All being well this will be firmly in place by the middle of December.
Finally, a collection of some old photos courtesy of David Wills, whose parents visited Hallyards in the 1930s, along with some of the saw in the photograph, which still hangs in one of our outbuildings!
